Nakausap ko sa Hesus
tanging ang kulisap lamang
ang nasisiyahan sa liwanag
na nagmumula sa lampara.
Habang ang bawat galaw
ng guhit ng relo
ay malakas na naririnig,
ang dilim naman ay nagbabanta
ng matinding kalungkutan.
Saglit kinuha ang isang kahon,
nangangapa man sa dilim
ay huling-huli pa rin.
Buti rin, tahimik na ang lampara,
wala na rin ang kanina’y
naglalarong insekto.
Binudbod ang puting bagay
mula sa supot
at sinimulan ang nakagawiang orasyon.
Lalong tumahimik ang silid,
iginala ang mga tirik na mata
tumigil na ang galaw ng orasan
namatay na rin ang liwanag
lumulutang ang katawan
pataas ng pataas...
Saglit pa’y may napansing
mukhang nakaguhit sa may dingding,
nakakahilakbot ang hitsurang tumambad
na misan sa paniginip ay hindi mawari,
ang bawat patak ng dugong umaagos mula
sa sugat ng kanyang mukha
ay nakakatakot.
Natagpuan ko ang aking
sariling umiiyak sa awa, sa takot, sa galit
”ikaw nga Hesus!”
ang simula, ang hangganan, ang katapusan
ilan pang tulad ko and magiging ganito?
Ngayon, ibabalik ko ang tanong mo noon?
”Diyos ko, bakit mo ako pinabayaan?”

PISO
Adunay usa ka bata
Nangandoy ug piso
Mupalit daw siya ug kendi
ug tungod kay pasko man
nakahuna-huna manaygon
Nagkuha ug duha ka bato
gigamit nga musiko
ug nagsugod sa kanto...
"jinggol bels, jinggol bels
jinggol od da wi, olwis pan
darestorayn en d wanders open sli."
Kanta sa bata sa unang higayon
Apan gisirad-an kani sa balay
ug gipahawa ang bata...
"jinggol bels, jinggol bels
jinggol od da wi, olwis pan
darestorayn en d wanders open sli."
Kanta sa bata sa ikaduhang higayon
Apan gikasab an sa balay
ug gipagukod ug iro...
"jinggol bels, jinggol bels
jinggol od da wi, olwis pan
darestorayn en d wanders open sli."
Kanta sa bata sa ikatulong higayon
Apan gipalungan ug suga
ug dali siyang mibiya...
"jinggol bels, jinggol bels
jinggol od da wi, olwis pan
darestorayn en d wanders open sli."
Kanta sa bata sa ikaupat nga higayon
Apan wala gipaminaw
ug dali na lang siyang hinglakaw...
Hinglakaw ug naglakaw lakaw
sa dalan..
wala kabalo asa paingon..
kahilakon...
kadaganun...
kasiyagiton...
ug hing tan aw sa siga kaayo nga bituon...
ug sa sarili hing-ingon
" PISO LANG GANI AKONG
GIHANGYO, DILI PA GYUD KAHATAG!"

Christmas in our Baranggay
Days were so fast. Nights were getting colder.
It just signals one thing.
It's Christmas Season once again.
It gets me excited whenever the season comes. I go to our province in Mati to celebrate it with my family and relatives.
I began waking-up early for an early mass. As a part of our PASTORAL YOUTH ASSOC., it is in our job that we call "pamukaw" wherein all youth are requested to wake up early and bring any sound equipments to use for waking up the sleeping night. I could not explain the wonderful experience being with them, as we all together share our laughters and fun.
Though, it's not in the family tradition to give gifts during Christmas(some may). I can still feel the love and warmth of each presence in the gathering. It gives me joy when i see the family together with other relatives eat in one table sharing the goodness of the year thay have brought them.
Another thing that i like about our Christmas is our tradition of "parol dancing". By the end of the Simbang Gabi, there are prepared "parols" hang on the church' ceiling. After the mass, the parols are manipulated as if they were dancing. I can imagine the intensity of the children seeing the dancing stars. All amazed of what they saw.
Hmmmm....Truly, Christmas in the Philippines is incomparrable.

A treat for myself..
Before the Christmas break, I promised myself to have something special for myself. I guess, I deserved myself a treat, after experiencing a stressful work of studying for exams, finishing my projects and reading a lot of study materials.
Sunday night,I and my friends, decided to have a dinner together at BOODELS.After which, we've decided to have a coffee break at KASAGINGAN, Torres.
I thought, we will just end that way but we have decided to pamper ourselves out of a rainy christmas season.
We ended to Asian Massage fronting GMALL. I was like so surprise of the trip. Like it was my first time to a massage thing and definitely feeling tense.
Not to mention the details inside the room and what had happened, i would agree that it was unexplainable for me to decribe the feeling.
As the masseur said, " Lahat ng nangyari sa loob ay sana sa loob na lang."

On GUERILLA FILMS
I just found myself watching films lately out of boredom. Luckily and disappointingly, i have watched Guerilla Films (Mindanao film festival), one of the cinema i have anticipated to watch.
Luckily?
- because i have seen a lot of potentials in mindanao in terms of producing films featuring stories of Mindanao even with a low cost of production.
Disappointingly?
-because of the low-depths plot on their creations.
Let's start on assessing the different short films included in the fesival.
Let's take note that in producing a short film or any other film, one must see to it that the plot used must directly connect and affect human interest and should be odd to make it peculiar from the other.
I would like to commend the film "MUKHA" for bringing another gay story in the Mindanao scene, however, when we look closely to the theme of the film, it doesn't touched the very essence of living a gay in a hell world. It doesn't capture the sufferings and pains of fags in a wider perspective.
Second, let us see to it that cinematic images must have an organizing effect on the eyes of the audiences. On the film ,BADJAO, which i thought an interesting and unique plotted-story, has a lot of cinematic flaws, i mean a lot. One can see JAO giving a piece of money and on the next scene you can see the landlord handling it many. Also, what was the sister of Jao doing in front of his house? etc.etc.etc...
Third, a film must have a focus. MARSOKWATRO, i admit that it was beautifully cinematographed, the film lacked focus. You will get confused who got the lead role, the reporter? the terrorist? the family?
Fourth, a film must co-incide with the theme of the musical score to the happenings on the scene. BADJAO has a lot of flaws in using SFX. You can hear disco music in the middle of intense scene.
A lot of requirements must be considered to have a film considerable to the interest of the audiences.
I have attended the GUERILLA AWARDS NIGHT at Damosa Gateway and there was no declared BEST FILM.
The reason?
The judges agreed to declare no winner because they want to challenge movie makers to have a well-done films. They are setting the bar higher to have a more challenging film in the next festival.
The judges were correct. Their message was clear. They were not impressed nor satisfied with what they saw. The films does not convert to the standards of quality films. It is more of quantity.(PEACE!)
NOTE: According to my teacher in Film Appreciation, Bong Eliab, Films are for public consumption, therefore, it is liable for critique and must be criticized. Don't be shy to critique a film, We have all the RIGHT!

KOLORETE
I just finished doing my information-commercial for my subject in Non-linear Video Editing. I'm happy i have captured the message i wanted with the perfect SFX(Sound Effects) and VFX(Video Effects).
I titled my commercial "kolerete". Embodying the symbol of homosexual's symbol to beautify themselves, "make-up". The comparison of applying make-up is seen similar to the risk a gay have to sacrifice. In the end, one cannot succumb to just let the injustices in the world and break the reflection which identify the gayness of him. If you don't understand what am i talking, i will post it in the youtube for you to see.
At this point, i would like to thank the following person who made this project a success.
JAREL ENRIQUEZ- Actor
Manong E
Kuya Bogs-For assisting the technicals
MC3A and B-supportive classmates
HUm division-for the facilities
SIR IAN GARCIA-mentor and teacher

FILIPINO WOMEN WON
The clamor of the people holding a picket rally at freedom park in Roxas was the same with the heat brought by the sun last Dec. 4,2006. It was in support to Nicole, a Filipina raped-by US militaries in Subic months ago. (Nicole, who was incidentaly lived Davao and an Atenean, filed a case against the military men who raped her.) We have decided to join the rally to show sympathy. The groups were from Gabriela, a women's party advocating for gender equality and took care on women's and children's rights.
I am happy that Nicole made it. At least, she has proven that she was telling the truth.
The victory of Nicole's battle is the victory of all Filipino women. This is a good start for the Filipino women's long conviction of supression on a macho-culture of the country and the rest of the world. This is also a proof that justice is still alive in the spirit of democracy in a country laid by political and social chaos.
Also, I would like to express my DEEP DISAPPOINTMENT to all Filipinos who have not believe Nicole from the day she screamed for justice. Woe to those people who don't beleive in the capacity of women's strength to relive her dignity. Woe to them who patronized the western culture and blinded by their foolish culture.
MABUHAY ANG MGA BABAE!

CINE EUROPA
I have attended a forum last Nov. 30, 2006 in our school about the cultural specifities on the films of Europe which launched the CINE EUROPA the following the day at GS Mall Illustre. Cine Europa is an annual event showcasing the different cultures of the countries included in the European Union including Finland, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Czech Rep., etc.. through films.
Aside from socializing with the BIG and BOLD (Ambassadors and Politicians)personalities from different countries during the premiere night, I was able to watched the film ONE WAY TICKET TO MOMBASA, a 2-hr film from Finland showcasing two characters of ironic personalities. I don't wanna give details of what had happened in the whole duration of the film because you might have the chance to see it in the future.
All I can say, the Film ONE WAY TICKET TO MOMBASA, though weak in plot and character development, the film perfected its beauty in giving the audience an alluring effects on its cinematographic design. It's beautiful concept of Momasa justified the dreams of two young men and made it worthy to see.
Cine EUROPA ran 3days on GS Mall theaters with a free admission, that is why we have not wasted our chance to see. We started at 11:00 am and ended 3:00pm
The following are the film we have seen along with my friend and the some remarks:
WHEN THE SEA RISES(Belgium)-1 hour film. Lousy Actors and weak plot. Beautiful musical score.
ZELARY(Czech Rep)-beautiful story, Unrealistic musical effects, excellent cinematography, good set design
SIMON(Netherlands) -the story disappoints me, it does not capture the real sense of Euthanasia and Gayness of a person.
After all, I am still happy to see the different cultures if the world in the glimpse of the films i saw. In Belgium, they have a festivity similar to our Higantes Festival. The Same sex marriage in Netherlands and many more.

HONESTLY SPEAKING
Things can never be just the way they are. It changes and mind does.
At this point, i want to express my disappointment to the decision of our Division Chairperson regarding our planned Cebu Trip come December. It's not that i am saying that she is wrong and I am right but the sad note is if when was already set, prepared and ready it is when she declared that we can't go for some reasons. I mean there are always reasons for those who prohibits.
First, on her ground of SECURITY. I believe that death comes at any time and any place. If it is your time to die then let it be. It is just a matter of destiny. If the bomb is planted on the plane we are going to take then we can't stop it and we cannot do something to stop it from exploding. We cannot predict terrorism. It comes in any form at anytime. As my teacher said, "LIFE is THE OTHER SIDE OF DEATH and DEATH is THE OTHER SIDE OF LIFE!"
Second, FINANCE. That is the purpose of having a solicitation letter to lessen the amount of transportation fare we are going to pay. We have search for the cheapest possible way like riding a bus going to Cagayan and Ferry to Cebu just to minimize the finance needed in the trip.
Going back to my disappointment, what was disheartening was the unfair treatment of the Dean of the University to the division. Why the Political Science students allowed to go to Malacanang last summer> The IS students to other parts of the world? Where in fact, it is more expenseive and far than our CEBU.
In my 3 years of being in the Mass Communication Department, I always hear comments from the teacher like MassCom Graduates from Ateneo are not good because they are only taught of theories and principles, they do not know the language of the masses and they can't speak to it, they cannot write a substantial straight news reporting and so on...Now, I think it's time to break this stereotype and this can only be achieve trough teaching them a balance education. Balance in theories and application. It's time to go out and search for the real action the way a real journalist or a broadcaster should be.
As what i am always saying to my friends, " REAL EDUCATION ARE NOT ONLT TAUGHT INSIDE THE FOUR CORNERS OF THE CLASSROOM, BUT OUTSIDE WHERE REALITY WELCOMES US."
